Mindfulness Meditation Exercise

One means to experience mindfulness is to turn your awareness back to the eternal moment by placing your focus and attention on your life force, the breath. In a sense mindfulness is like coming back up from the depth of the ocean in order to breathe again. It allows for clarity of mind. Here is a brief mindfulness exercise that may help to spark your interest; however, it is highly recommended to work with someone who is certified to teach this age old art. Before you watch the video it is good to loosen up with some light stretching, then get comfortable in front of the screen but maintain good posture to stay alert. Next psychologically prepare yourself for an awesome experience. It is best to use headphones. Ready to go; of course you are! One final suggestion to get you into the flow. Without being too hard on yourself, should you waver from the task, keep your eyes gently placed upon the centre of the image in the video and consistently remain aware of your breath going in and out. Just place your awareness back on your breath if your attention should slip away and breathe naturally. It’s ok to close your eyes if the motion picture causes you discomfort. Enjoy!
